Which Head Bolts

Hi

I have searched the forums but can't really find the answer.

I am doing the HG on my Disco 200tdi and will be using new head bolts. I have seen sets ranging from £14 up to £40.

Which bolts should I be looking at getting ?

Genuine ones would be my advice for such critical parts

Where's the best/cheapest place to get them from ?

I have searched the web but cannot be sure the one's I have found are genuine.

Cheap bolts usually made by same maker as makes OE ones but cheaper. If you're only using them once then why worry.

Genuine from Land Rover
OE (also acceptable) from independent supplier such as Paddocks, John Craddock, Island 4x4 etc
Aftermarket ones best avoided IMO

I'll second that, cheapo bolts are a false economy - head gasket pins need to stretch to a precise length, OE/Gen ones will, aftermarket cheapy's, may do but they may not - the key point is YOU will never know. personally I always use the highest spec I could afford, especially on safety critical or ( in this case) jobs that you really dont want to do twice.
