just looking at egr removal kits and I was wondering if there is any benefit of the ally ones over stainless ar steel, obviously steel rusts so I will give that a miss but one of the ads states that ally kits expand at the same rate as the manifold which they say is a benefit over stainless steel does anybody have any idea if they are better or just look nicer?

don't know anything about D2's but i would go for the one that is the same metal as you are bolting it to.

I fitted on of these - works fine, no problems and fitting instructions were clear

thats one of the ones I looked at and probably the one Ill go for,did you notice much difference after fitting?

if you go for one of these, the pipe fits straight on, if you get one that hasn't you have to block the pipe with something ,ie screw etc,
fitted in less than 30mins, you have to make sure your studs are well penetrated with oil first and not stuck solid as you can snap them off,

Yes - Pick up is quicker on acceleration, not sure about fuel consumption as I don't check it. My EGR valve was quite crusted up - I've kept it in case I ever need to re-fit it. It can't be a good thing to re-circulate all that crud back through the engine. A copy of the instructions are here in case you wanted a look. Go for it!
