which clutch for me??

I've got a v8 sd1 engine out of a series 3 and i'm now putting that into a 90 with lt77-(not v8 one)
Obviously it wont fit but what clutch do i need to buy? a normal 200tdi clutch plate or a v8 one??
Do i need to change the clutch cover aswell?
I have had a read up and will be changing the fork and going for a pukker release bearing. Any help would be great don't want to cock up and end up with an £80 paper weight.
 
as far as i am aware you need to modify the v8 flywheel to accept the 200tdi clutch, all it involves is drilling and pegging it in the right position, i belive that a company called engine conversions, if you google it do it for a very reasonable price if you just send it to them

Do you think if it's got a conversion kit on it for a series land rover it would have been done? It has a modern style pressure plate on it,not a 3 prong jobbie.
I was half hoping i could just change the plate.
What do you think? Is it just a peg to be fitted.Is the peg on the clutch pressure plate? Any info's great cheers.
 
I've got to change the clutch plate for sure as it has the course spline.But i cant see why i cant use the pressure plate thats on there,i'm worried about the pegs on the flywheel lining up now (as mentioned above)
I don't want to buy a whole clutch kit to find the pressure plate wont fit.
Aren't the clutch plates the same size?
 
basically if you have the flywheel re pegged you will be able to use the standard 200tdi clutch plate and clutch housing, ive dcided that since im at a good stage in my rebuild that im currently looking at putting a v8 into my 200tdi 90 so i will be hopfully doing this too
 
When I built a V8 into a series 11A with its original gearbox I used a series diesel friction plate and a 3.8 jag pressure plate. and redrilled the flywheel to suit .
I would think that a sd1 you could use a original pressure plate and 90 friction plate if they are same diameter. if not then 90 pressure plate and redrill flywheel to suit .
