I'm planning to install a few electrical upgrades, or tarty bling **** if you will... in my 1994 Disco V8, and I don't want the hassle of worrying about draining my battery when using them so the sensible solution would be to install a secondary power source in the engine bay, as I regularly use the rest of the interior storage and load space...

So my question is; where is a good place to mount it??
Or where have you mounted yours?
As I have the LPG vaporiser/injector thingy on the offside wheel arch and I don't want to move the screen wash reservoir if I can help it so where else would be feasible?
If someone had some pictures of their engine bay with their secondary power source installed that would be most appreciated:D

I was thinking about doing the same, but then decided if I'm stupid enough to flatten the battery its my own fault.

I believe most pictures I found had either two batteries in place of the existing one or the 2nd battery in front of the air box.

Just remember to start the engine before using any high powered items, or wire them so they only work with the engine on and carry a pair of jump leads.

There's an item on the Devon 4x4 website that's supposed to do this, but it doesn't show exactly where it goes so I don't know if it will foul your LPG equipment
D44 Discovery 2 2nd Battery Tray
At £130 or so, it looks a bit dear to me. It doesn't look like there's anything there one couldn't make oneself with a few bits of sheet metal a grinder and a welder.

most people fit a second battery on the opposite side to the original one on a disco. Quite a few members on here have done this.

Your better off posting specific vehicle related posts in the relevant section though bud, the disco anoraks will help you better than the usual suspects in here ;)
