On my way to Tong to meet with Hull 4x4 and as im driving along at 65mph,

the disco coughs and dies non violent death just a nice smooth engine stop:(

got her into a layby on A64 and tried everything but she wont go again, engine turns over but wont fire, there is fuel in her oil level is spot on, there is fuel to the engine and injectors are only 1000 mile old, All the electrics work it just wont fire up,

Where is best place to start to locate the problem????

Cheers guys

Have you tried the decompression solenoid on the pump? My 300 tdi did exactly that, and turned out I had knocked the conection when I serviced her the day before, she wouldnt go for ****, then I noticed the conector had come off, put it back on and all was good!

Fuel stop solenoid. check there's a live supply to it. Or run a wire from battery to solenoid and see if it'll start then.

Just checked and there is power there also power to glow plugs and not sure where the decompression solenoid is but still no start will check that when i find it, Battery is on charge at the min so will be back out in morning and try figure this out:(

Cheers for the pointers guys:)

May be part of the wiring loom has caught on the exhaust manifold at the back of the engine bay, this happened on mine when i turned it off once at some roadworks.May be worth a look at yours.
