Can anyone point me in the direction where I can get a non-glass sunroof for my 52 plate freelander?

I am wanting to install a search lamp from a boat on the roof for lamping and the sunroof seems to be the most logical place.

Am not going to even attempt to drill the glass one currently in it!

cheers

David

Your right it's not difficult at all, about as easy as posting silly comments to make you feel better about yourself.

The reason I asked on the forum was I was advised to by another user on here, to do so as members of the community could advise on decent places to go for it. ones to avoid etc

I didnt realise there were only specific questions I was allowed to ask, please point me in the direction of the link for these questions and Ill read through it so as not to ask daft ones again.

cheers

Gotta be easier and cheaper to fit the roof bars and then put a rack across with the light mounted on that

I had thought about building a frame and trying that however, with the weather being as cold as it is, thought I would try the sunroof option.

I have tried a few searches on google as per smarty pants response above however it appears to be glass ones that always come up.

You'll be colder when you pull that glass one out and realise how difficult it is to get a new one - glass or metal in

If its the sunroof that is split into two (manual oppening) like I have on my 3 door 2004, then they are very easy to remove and replace, if it is an electric one I have no experience but suspect from the comment from 'Mark 2' then it could be difficult to replace.
Maybe try ebay or possibly a few scrap yards they may come up if you are only looking for one side (assuming it is a manual sunroof).

magnum car pannels on 01706 359666 if they dont list it or cant get it they dont exist

be aware they are a pannel pressing works and do stock a lot of things if they aint got it they can create one quite easily

3 or 5 door?

I've recently replaced my panels on my 3 door with glass ones so you're welcome to make me an offer on my old ones.

where abouts are you david (roughly) ?

like Ian above, I've got some of the 3 door ones in metal in my shed from when I changed to glass.

got agree with Mark through, mounting to the roof bar would be a better solution.
