Currently looking at an August 98 registered 3dr 300 TDi (to add to the herd of LRs). Would I be right in saying that is a facelifted Disco 1 at that age or is it a 2? V5 says 2495 cc so not TD5 and it has the Marina flush door handles and square headlights. I have also seen the thread where someone is being ping-ponged about the supposed value of a 95, 300 so I have an idea of price. Thanks in anticipation.

You answer the question yourself..you say is it's a 300TDI not TD5
Therefore it is a Disco 1 not a Disco 2
But to be sure, look at the back, are the lights high up or lower down on the pillars?

Elbow height probably so this is an updated 1 then. Looks a pretty solid beast - good sills, chassis, boot floor. Door pillars good at the bottom too but showing a bit of rust on the flat part of the inner wings. Dry inside too which can only be good. What I have noticed is a bit of corrosion along the top of the windscreen at the front edge of the roof into the screen rubber. Common prob or a weak spot with the model? Biggest fear is having to change the windscreen at some point and finding half the surround comes away with it.

Just had another look. Definitely a facelift model 300TDi. I reckon a negotiated asking price of £1700 with 3 days tax and "MOT March" is too much of a chance to take seeing as that it means March this year rather than next!

You could always make a 12 month MOT part of the deal.
Nothing to stop the seller going early to get one........ or is their?
