Currently in the process of sorting the chassis out (or was before it started p*ssing it down)
Angle grinder with a wire brush attachment has worked well and have done from the front of the chassis back to the rear diff. Even managed to get that round rear "cross member"? back to bare metal, the bit the rear arbs connect too, given that looked the worse. Dropped the fuel tank the other day to do the rest, all pretty clean, only needs a weld on the bottom of the right chassis leg. Gave me a chance to replace the HP green fuel line, that someone had repaired 4 TIMES, and I mean in 4 different places, with hose clamps and quick connectors... and it still p*ssed diesel. Thats getting coated with rust inhibiting primer, then black chassis paint, then god help me I might even waxy it. Anyway where was I, from what I can tell the underbody is coated with some sort of sticky oil, that is working very well, but they didn't do above the fuel tank which has some surface rust on the ally. And mainly the wheel wells, whatever paint is put on at factory is pretty much gone and I want to know what is best to coat them in, some sort of primer or just stone chip them?
