I am going to fit a very clean set of 3 spoke alloys with new tyers to my 72 and I have read in a back issue of LRO that I will need to fit alloy wheels studs and nuts, is this true?

whats the difference between them?

also it said I would need to put a slight taper on some sort of flange to get the alloy wheel to fit over the hub, any ideas what it meant?

Your studs should be ok but you will need alloy wheel nuts.

To fit over the hub, you usually need a spacer, width of spacer dependant on the type of wheel.;)
