to easily check if you have steel or alloy wheels use a magnet, if they're ally the magnet wont stick
It's not your nuts that are wrong you need longer studs I think.Hi,
On a slightly different thread (like what i did there). Does anyone out there no where i can purchase an aftermarket set of wheel nuts that are suitable for a set of steel modular wheels. The set came off of a Landy but the standard whhel nuts are not suitable as they are too big (too deep) and there is insufficient thread. I need slightly shallower ones?
That's why twin-wheel vans (eg transits) have left hand threads on the nearside. They self-tighten. Seriously bent a few wheelbraces till I worked that out.a thing i used to get on my series 2a was the near side wheel nuts would work loose had to crack them up ever week or so .
(had a nearside rear overtake me once luckily nobody was coming around the corner just up the road as it would have been very nasty)
