Sorry, you answered my question while I was still posing it!
I'm not familiar with the P38, but on other models there is a plastic tube thing you push on then pull off. Doesn't work very well, and is often broke or missing. Is it hexagonal to make it look like the other nuts? If so put the wheel brace on it and gently waggle it loose.

yep chrome wheel nut lock covers. some are loose but they wont come
off and i dont want to damage the alloy with brute force

as davec said get on ebay or get up the main steelers cant cost very much for a bit of tubeing

Just put on a deep socket and 'wiggle' it, works every time with mine.
BTW the black plastic thing should have little lips which are normally broken

Yu do know that only the locking wheel nut covers come orf don't ya?? the others stay on. and the wheelbrace fits over em.
