hi
stupid question i cannot get the wheel caps of my rangie to change the wheel?!!!!!!!!:p someone please any idea!
thanks jackie

I presume you are talking about the caps on the wheel nuts.

You don't need to remove 4 of them, the wheel brace should fit snugly over them. The one with a dimple in it is the only one which comes off, there should be a plastic sleeve in the wheel well in the boot which fits over the dimpled one to pull it off. Then there will be a security nut under this, the attachment for which should be in the boot with the plastic sleeve, maybe its in the gloove box.

The nuts can be somewhat tight (understatement!!) as well especially if they haven't been off for a while. Sometimes the nuts swell up so a slightly bigger socket is needed. Forget the tiddly little wheel brace, it'll bend or slip off. Oh yes and the wheel can adhere itself to the hub and need a wallop from behind with a stout block of wood held against the inside edge to deaden the hammer blow (with the car supported to stop it falling off the jack!) If its the plastic centre cap you mean leave it on until the wheel is off then dink it from behind with the blunt end of a hammer (gently!)
