Hi there all just wondering if anyone can help me find the right wheel bearing for my defender 300tdi it's a M reg but heard the are different to all the others

Many thanks barry90

As long as it still has the original axle / hubs fitted they should be RTC3429, bearings changed with the TD5 (1998+). Only use Timken bearings unless you want to become good at changing bearings regularly. Don't forget to order new grease seal and also locking washer.

TD5's use the same bearings RTC3429 which are the same as STC4382.

TD5's have a spacer between them rather than taking the play out by feel. A TD5 can have the spacer removed and the lock nuts/tabs changing to enable them to run as per older models. If you buy a wheel bearing out it usually comes with the parts for either type of setup. The only thing you don't get in the kit is a replacement spacer.

Okay thanks for the advice lads :) my ball joint housing didn't have any oil in so wasn't sure if that could be the noise I'm hearing and my wheel bearing being okay :/
