Will,
Read your question with interest.
For God's sake, do not under any circumstances use KwikFit - wouldn't trust them to make a cup of tea..!!!
I don't know where you live but I personally would Google 'merit tyres', no sod it, I'll give you the link:
Tyres, Car Tyres
I've used this company and my local branch in Thame, Oxfordshire for the past 10years.
They have the absolute latest technology for wheel alignment - have a look at the 'services' tab and the drop down options.
They use the 'Hunter' system from the USA. This will align all your wheels, back to how they left the factory, using lasers and a computer... Don't ask me anymore, it's too technical but, if you have got a problem with alignment, their system, costing you about £60.00 for the service, will cure it.
I buy all my tyres for my P38 and the wifey's Ford. My local branch are trustworthy, reliable and the staff have a vast knowledge and have been there years. They are really helpful and will not correct anything, if it doesn't need it.
When I bought my P38 I had a wheel wobble, took it to them and an hour later left with the smoothest, fantastic straight line drive possible.
They may not be the cheapest but are not outrageously expensive, but then again, you do get what you pay for...
I hope this goes someway to answering you question and no, I don't work in the tyre alignment industry..
Let us know how you get on and where you choose..
