On a new Defender 90? Friend has a "Bespoke" 90 (£45,000) bought new in May and says he's getting 200 miles from a TANK.

I get 320 miles from £60 of diesel in my 110 TD5 and it's not full.

I know some people are only getting 22mpg from the tdci. Mine does 26-28 mpg.

Tank capasity is differnt between the two,

How is she driving it ?

is she towing ?

My 300 90 gets near enough 300 on its peanut sized tank.

The TD5 90 has a rather small tank as standard, particularly so when you consider it's a vehicle that's supposed to be able to work in remote rural areas. That's why I've put an additional Safari-Equip one under the rear wing. It's only another 30-40 litres but it makes a big difference to how quickly the level goes down.

A new 90 has a tank capacity of 60L (13.22 Gal) but it depends on how much they are putting in the tank when they fill up.
Are the just putting in about 8 Gal (which works out to around 25MPG) or are they draining the tank almost completely which would mean a much worse fuel consumption?
Without knowing the actual amount of fuel they are putting in it makes any comparison almost worthless as the gauge and/or low fuel warning light may not be accurate but mileage and amount of fuel used is very easy to measure.
