Hello all,

I've got two problems with my 90 and hope someone on here might be able to offer some help, please.

First up, a strange noise is coming from under the vehicle. I can't work out whether it's towards the front or the back axles. The easiest way to describe the noise is that it sounds like a seal pup being clubbed. The noise is an intermittent "squeal" as I drive between 10mph and 30mph before stopping. It must be something with the wheels, axles, props or UJ... as he seal pup gets beaten quicker as I accelerate. Is this my UJ(s)? If so, is this an easy DIY fix? I've never attempted that one before. Any other thoughts on what it could be?

Secondly, just recently, when the weather is really wet my diff lock dash light glows even though I've not engaged it. I'm guessing there's water getting in somewhere. Has someone else had this happen to their Landy? If so, how'd you fix it, please!?

Thanks in advance guys.
Will report back on here when I get it fixed!

John.

Oooooooooooo I have a clubbed seal pup under the bonnet round about where the right wheel is. I know or think I know what it is, a stone stuck in the break pad which is rubbing heavily. Sorting it tomorrow. Its my guess as it started after I drove through a massive lane repair job going on and there was chippings everywhere for about a mile. Since then rubby rubby squeely squeely. Could be wrong though. Will see tonight or tomorrow.

Yup - it was a stone caught in between, the disk and a metal guard. Either the seal pup died or it was the stone rubbing.

When I replaced my disc and pads I was advised by the guys here to ditch the metal gaurd for that reason.

There is so much info on here to wade through. Its a brilliant site. I mean I dont know much about cars, so having this forum is really great to put your mind at rest. And then at least if it turns out bad, you know its genuinely bad not some scumbag mechanic racking up his wages.
