It's all down to the market, isn't it! Supply and demand and all that.
Now as reg plates are unique there can't be many called T055ER out there. So, supply is going to be low. However, I can think of a lot of people that plate would make a suitable present for, so perhaps the potential demand is high.
Maybe we should examine the market?

I remember seeing some garishly-coloured Lambo a couple of years back with the number plate "UT055ER". Made me chuckle, all credit to the owner for that one.

Even if the owner was as the plate described, would he want the world to know? Thinking about it I suppose he would - if you get my drift
As to value, substitute them for a properly character-spaced pair every MOT & dodge the ANPR camera's in the meantime
