Hi all,
Im a new member with an old problem ,
Have bought a 88" 1976 series 3 Diesel, done all welding got through MOT just in time for the snow but its very very slow. tried timing the pump but i have no pointer on bell housing. timing marks are 13 and 15 on the flywheel so i believe i time at 13 degrees. it has got two timing marks on bottom pulley with a pointer so i tried those but still crap. The pump has internal markings through window so is of early type not sure on the engine though. engine no 36902300 c it also has a leyland stamp with ERC 4940 on the side. is this a sherpa, Taxi?
I also changed the glow plugs because of starting issues but had to go through boxes of them in my local halfords to match them as they are a much thinner thread than land rover ones. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
