What's attached to my EGR?

Below I've added a couple of pics taken before I blanked off the EGR. I'm not sure what the 'extra' bits are as I've not seen this in anything I've looked at before. It's a 1998 300 tdi auto imported from Japan.

I took it off & blanked it (3) anyway although not the way the supplied diagram showed.

Started & runs well enough just now

And yes I am new to Landys & diy maintenance

bottom picture is one of the two reasons for blanking,top looks like water cooling jacket to help stop bottom picture

Thanks, James, after a bit more searching I found that it was common on Jap versions. Didn't expect so much crap in there though.

Yup,my jap spec has one....blanked and re routed pipes
