i got a wolf gas/gasless it was about £130 , its got a good current range.. done some patching for a couple of mots on the disco and one on the fourtrak, i weld outside in the wind so use it gasless, its sticks the patches on, as neatly as the garage does without blowing holes, reckon id get neater if i used it more. but i still use arc on thicker stuff cos ive had 30 years practice and still got the arc welder..

Right so, if a complete noob wanted to teach themselves to weld (just patches on chassies and stuff) what type of, and make of welder would you guys recommend?

Remember, we're not talking pressure vessels or anything, just hobby welding.

Shame they dont sell direct and dont have many dealers near to me otherwise Id have one any day.
