I am about to leave my 2008 Puma Defender for about six months. I would prefer to disconnect the battery but wonder if I will have any problems when I reconnect the battery after the layup - either with the vehicles system or with the remote key/ imobiliser system.

With my 300 I used to happily disconnect the battery for several months but have heard advice to the contrary on the Puma engined versions.

Thanks for any advice

David

My main family car was left i driven for about 7 months.

I didn't do anything at all with the battery and it was fine.

But if you worried stick it on an intelligent trickle charger

If its parked outside you could get one of the small solar panels that you can put on the dash and connect to the battery (cig lighter socket may have a switched power supply so cant be used). That will keep the battery good and also stop the alarm (if you have one) draining the battery
