What sort of freelander have I got

Sorry to be a bit thick guys but I want to buy some car mats to protect my new freelander but I dont know what to buy.

The description is

Freelander Adventurer TD4 on a GU56 plate but I am confused on something. The description generally says up to 06 or from 06. Am I right in thinking that from 06 is the Freelander 2?

Also how do I know whether I have a face lift model. I am waiting for the registration document from DLVA so maybe it tells me on there.

By the way I am loving driving it. I pulled the seat a little bit more forward but adjusted the backrest further back and found that so much more comfortable. I guess it takes a while to get used to it but after 3 days of driving back and forward to work feel its becoming "my car"
 
The Freelander 1 stopped production in 2006. After that its the Freelander 2. Yours is therefore a Freelander 1.

Face lift. Look at the headlights. Are they boring rectangles or are the lights designer and integated? If the latter its the facelift.

You don't need to buy specific mats for the Freelander. As long as they're the right size, it should be fine. If you plan to go off road at all, don't buy carpeted mats because they're a b*tch to clean. Plain rubber ones are easier to clean and are more durable.

Personally, I went into my local Halfords (or scamfords) and tried out a few to see how they fit. I usually avoid using Halfords but it's not the end of the world to go there just to buy some mats. (though, some here will probs shoot me now that I've said that!)

Oh I might do one of those Land Rover Days - I dont think I would ever go off road in mine but it would be nice to see how these machines respond and my boss has done all the Land Rover Experiences. He has a Defender which looks like a tank and he said that when you go you can try whichever make/model of Land Rover you want so I think it would be good to go.

Might look in to that -

having said that my confidence is building each time I drive and today I didn't fret about trying to park cos I went up on the pavement and edged forward and backwards until I was aligned with the curb.

Still looking into the parking sensors - I have found a site that fits them (the engineer comes out to you) and you also get a little lcd screen fitted - cost £250 approx including fitting.

The Land Rover experience courses are VERY expensive. On the other hand, you get to drive around an off road course in a brand new 4x4 (with a qualified instructor) and get to see what they're capable of. If you lack confidence while driving, this would probably prove beneficial to you because the more experience you have, the more confident you will become.
