Hi
I've a P38 4.0 at present but am on the lookout for a diesel manual. I generally only use it for general road use with a bit of towing. Mine has 16" standard wheels. What's teh general school of thought wrt 16" vs 18" wheels. The 18" size looks great - fills the arches much better but do they compromise on comfort on road or for light off road ability in any way?

Hi, I have a 2001 2.5 HDSE and bought it with 22'' wheels... see it here:

I thought they would be too big at first but I really only want to use the Range rover on road and I am very surprised at the handling and confort. I guess this is better with the original air suspension, if I had coils it would be a lot harder.

I have 4 x 18" wheels removed from the limited edition "bordeaux" 2001 Range, the tires are not too good but the wheels are in very good condition, let me know of you fancy them, make me an offer...

can see them here: http://www.sixlondon.com/websites/stuff/18inchwheel.jpg

Hi, I have a 2001 2.5 HDSE

MMmmm i still have a performance intercooler for sale for that year ;)

on another note, mine is on the 18" std hurricane alloys and thats fine but i did read that anything above 19" on the diesel can cause some vibration but thats on the new uns i think, dont know about the p38? but eminenz seems fine to him?

Hi,

I drove all the way from Wigan to London last week, first time I ever drove it, and was looking for every little thing wrong, you know how it is when you are driving a new car for the first time, everything that you're not comfortable with gets a 'check'.

Well, I can tell you that I did find a few things but the wheel alignment is perfect and i felt no vibrations whatsoever!

If I did I would put the 18'' back in it, I am not a fan of "bling" wheels, but these do look very good on the car.

Mark, I appreciate the Intercooler offer! let me check with a dealer nearby what the problem may be and if they say it needs that I will get in touch... sorry, I have no idea what it may be...

later!

Thanks for the info folks.
I'm in Ireland (roads are much worse over here than in the UK) so definitely was not going to consider anything more than 18" but I might just stick to 16's.
