What should a Disco 2 smell like?

Fogging only masks the smell it pairs to the 02 atom and so hides the smell but only for so long. The only real way to destroy a smell is to remove as much of the thing thats causing it and then ozone it for 12 to 24hrs.

Pretty sure such "a thorough wash" would kill the autobox controller, CD changer, SRS control module and basically everything else south of the steering wheel on mine...

Lol it had a good go but a couple of days drying out and cleaning of fuse box and bcu ect and all is well 😜 lesson learnt.

As a Prestige Valeter id reccomend trying a good reputable local Valeter. If you want to do it yourself though and have the time then get on a well known auction site and look for 2 products, Bio brisk and odourcon. Both of these are from autosmart and they work really well. The bio brisk (and a good hot wet vac) will help kill and bacteria and a lot of the smell, and the odourcon will give you a more pleasant smell. Unfortunately though it really depends on how long the smell had been in. some may not come out if its been left too long but these products can certainly make it easier to live with. Failing that it would be a new interior!

How does fogging work? What machine would you use?

Coffee grounds are supposed to be good at absorbing pet smells...

My first car had a very stale/doggy smell inside which turned out to be the cabin filter. I tried spraying the filter with all the air fresheners in the cupboard for a quick fix. That just made it smell like a dog wearing perfume instead.

+1 for the cabin/pollen filter also a lot of rancid stench in cars can be caused by a screen wash bottle that needs cleaning out. I've used bio brisk too and it is good.
