Hi I'm new here and just brought my first defender, so brought my first a 1987 defender 90 with a 300tdi and on the way down the header tank split and gearbox packed up, I thought it with 300tdi and newish meant to be decent gearbox and turned out they didn't put enough oil in the gearbox on the journey home from Rochdale to Leicester I broke down 10 miles from home gearbox was locked up so ripped it out and found the floors had rotten through the seller told me to f**k off not his problem, but anyhow welded in New floor panel's but wonder what seals are beat to seal the the tunnel seat box and floors don't really wanna use silicone to make it easier when taking it apart again any information be good thanks

Oh, and as you’re new to Landys I’ll let you off, but you actually have a pre-Defender Land Rover Ninety ( the ‘Defender’ only came into being in ‘91 ). But to Joe public might as well be a Defender!

There are a few kinds....

Or a more traditional

Whichever kind you choose don't forget to......

Seal it with a loving kiss.
