What S2a colours were available in 1966?

Hi All,

Have any of you an information sheet saying what colours were available for a series 2a 1966 and their codes too please? Also, I have side-windowed hard top fitted, should this be white? If so what colour white (with codes) is correct and should the sides be white or match the car? Both options look good to me (see below) but as I am restoring the Landy, I want to get it right.

the top pic is right but should be painted in limestone, bottom pic the sides should be painted the same as the roof, it was only the safari models that had the sides painted the same as the bottom part of the car.

all colours can be bought from paddocks.

colours i know the name of for body

1 bronze green
2 lime green
3 marine blue
4 dove grey
5 masiah red

limestone for roof.

other peeps use defender colours for series trucks but to be honest i think they don't suit series trucks hope this helps.

Bottom one is pastel green - quite a rare colour!

Cheers! Just what I needed. I appreciate that pastel green is rather rare but it is not to my taste, it looks a bit washed out to me. So Bronze Green it is, I guess, although Poppy Red sounds interesting. Has anyone a photo of a SWB Poppy red with side windows? Had a quick scoot around the web but could not find anything decent.

LR painted the Defender 50th Anniversary model that colour, looked good.

So they did!

I think the phrase your looking for is "Thats fookin horrible". Its like they ****ed up painting the engine with the body
