What Rivnut/Nutsert Tool?

I'm looking at buying a Nutsert Tool. Would like to have a range of sizes up to M10 maybe, to cover any eventuality. Any recommendations or advice. Don't mind spending a bit, but not wanting to go daft. £50/60ish
 
ive got the one by memfast who advertise in the landy mags. not often you buy a lifetime tool but this is it. really well made and lovely to use.

Been looking at those...they seem to go up to M8, and then advertise a different tool for M8 upwards. Is that the case?

I see the price has gone up considerably since I bought mine. However it is fairly versatile and will do pop rivets and riv-nut type captive nuts in a variety of sizes. A bit fiddly to use because of all the different attachments, but it looks like a good strong tool and doesn't take much force on the handles to collapse the nut or rivet

Not sure. ID have to go have a look. Tbh though if you need something as big as m10 then maybe a rivnut isn't the best fixing? And as the rivnut gets bigger or you need steel or stainless rivnut s they can be pretty hard to set. I've found them best for non load bearing blind side fixings like cubby box, electrical components and rear interior boxes. Great for all that, but I don't need anything like m10 size, it would be overkill.
 
Fitting Rivnuts without the special tool.
You need 2 nuts, 1 bolt and 1 washer that fit the thread of the rivnut. Put a clearance drill through 1 nut so that it has no thread and slides up and down the bolt.
Push the rivnut into the hole, wind the threaded nut and washer onto the bolt, then slide the drilled nut onto the bolt under them, then screw the bolt into the rivnut. It should go in far enough that the thread of the bolt is fully engaged with the thread of the rivnut. Tighten the threaded nut / washer down onto the drilled nut and wind it up tight, so that the bolt tries to pull the rivnut out of the hole, but it can't because the drilled nut is holding it in. The rivnut will then deform inside the hollow section as designed.
Loosen the threaded nut and test to see if the rivnut is tight - if not, wind it up a bit more.

Thanks all for replies and links. You are probably right Mike with the M10 being over kill. Just wanted to cover my options. Suppose if I want to set an M10 Treweys method would be ideal. Thanks again all. I do like the look of the Memfast though.
 
Slight thread hijack but does anyone know where I could get replacement mandrels the same as the one in the pics. I've got up to m6 but I really need m8 and m10 but can't seem to find them anywhere. No idea who my tools made by but its the rivet gun stylee. I would much rather have mandrels for it in the correct size rather than doing the old nut and bolt trick
