Hi All, thought I could get under the Landy and wire brush and paint the axles (as I didn't do this when I swapped chassis), they are looking a little bit scabby, just on the surface.

I've used hammerite on the fuel tank guard (td5) which has been good, probably because I thinned it slightly and prep was good as I had to repair it because of corrosion, but on the tow bar brackets and fuel filter guard its started to peel off.

Any/all recommendations appreciated, bearing in mind it must be something I can brush paint on preferably as stuck in isolation without facemask for spraying! Thanks!!

Thus stuff is great , lovely finish, make sure you rub down well and get good primer on.

Thanks guys! I've decided to use up the hammerite I've got left over from when I last painted the rrc rear axle, that's lasted very well tbf, and it's free as I have a few tins of it kicking around! Cheers guys!

Same as me just what I had lying around but it did last on axles and yours are pretty much same

Did you thin yours down at all? I found it really thick, and when I thinned it it went on much better, I did two coats thinned and that's lasted amazingly, even with some stone scrapes off road and some intense(man) pressure washing! :)

I also recommend the corroless stuff,
I used the all in one stuff on my Jag parts

Lovely hard matt finish.
