Hmmmm.... now I'm going to have to work out what wheels they are....

edit: Didn't take long - they're Range Rover P38 'Hurricane' wheels

Was adding or deleting the plastic rubbing strip along the sides a model/edition thing or a year thing?

Mine's a 2000 Td5 which I thought was an ES, though I can't remember why now - probably based on the radio/CD changer fitted, but it does have the rubbing strips...and two sunroofs!

Interesting point... I took mine into a LR specialist last week. He told me he very rarely sees them in the same colour as mine and there next to it was one virtually identical but with rubbing strips.

Side running strips were standard on the 2000 ES along with with heated windscreen according to the sales brochure

Dumb question... I assume the side running strips were just glued on and could be removed without damage?
If so I guess mine had them but they were removed?

Mine is a 2000 ES and did NOT come with the strips on. I did add them about 8 years ago. It had/has 16' wheels, too.
