Hi anyone

I have Mother has TD4 freelander with a weird prob - anyone any ideas on a possible fault / solution:

"Moms car is still making a noise, a sort of whooshing sound that also omits light fumes from a pipe in front of the near side front wheel even for a short time after the engine is stopped. Can’t see anything in the handbook."

I had a quick look but the car had just been on the motorway for an hour and was fine

What does FBH mean? I just Googled it and got these definitions. Let me guess, is it the last one Sean?

FBH Ferdinand Braun Institut für Höchstfrequenztechnik (Berlin)
FBH FireBatHero (Starcraft gaming)
FBH Flat Bottom Hole
FBH Federal Bureau of Hackers
FBH Fire Baptized Holiness
FBH familial benign hypercalcemia (aka Familial Hypocalciuric Hypercalcemia)
FBH Fort Benjamin Harrison (Indiana)
FBH Fuel Burning Heater (vehicles)
FBH Force Beachhead
FBH Federation of Bounty Hunters (gaming clan)
FBH Front of Back Hash (marching band)
FBH Feline Butt Hobbits

Fook me there are some really sad people on this forum!!!

If he new the pipe was from his Fuel Burner Heater and new it was an FBH dont you think he would have searched it already?

He didnt have a clue so why be a total DICK about it? :frusty:

no, there's no end of questions that have been asked (and answered) over and over again on here

if people can't be arsed to search why should others (who do know the answer) be arsed to reply ?

Of course we should have realised that he was the only person in the world ever to have made this discovery. and therefore he couldn't possibly have searched thru the freelander section for "smoke coming from wheel arch". or "what is this pipe near the wheel for"

FFS the 1st rule of all forums is if you have a query do a search first. Then if he still couldn't find the answer he mite have got a sympathetic answer.

Edit in fact I have just googled for "freelander smoke coming from wheel arch and you'll never guess what it turned up at the top of the search results. http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=e...G=Search&meta=cr=countryUK|countryGB&aq=f&oq=

Some people are new to forums and never used them, some havent a clue what they are talking about so if they dont know what to search for how can they search????? Secondly some people are not as clued up as others so why expect everyone to be equally intelligent??

What is so hard with typing 'Fuel Burner Heater' It aids quicker warm up of engine and in side cab temperature under 5 degrees weather conditions. Has its own small exhaust pipe on passengers side behind front bumper.??????????????????

If your not going to put a proper answer or help the guy with his question they why bother at all????

Most of the forums I visit have a FAQ page I always take the time to read it. Those that don't are usually the ones that ask questions that have been asked hundreds of times before. What was so hard about him phoning the garage/previous owner and asking them?? Nothing at all really. So basically we have a lazy fooker who doesn't like it when he has to do something for himself. Why the **** should you be bothered if he gets the right answer or not. If your not happy with the way this forum runs. Instead of trying to get it to run the way you think it should you could just fook off to a forum like LRO with the restr of the anally retentive ****ers.

What we need is a sticky at the very top entitled "Before posting your question read this" stating to use the search button first and then if they still need to ask a question to please include details of vehicle age, engine, mileage etc. and recent work done.

****ing hell you lot are sad!! Google, who doesnt use google?? and no i didnt search for this site it was recommended to me.

'redhand' - if the mods new what they were doing on here they would know that your last comment could be seen as 'Slander' by another forum and get this forum in trouble. They should delete it really!
