what is it????

was under the disco today and i noticed like a canister style thing (bit like a diesel filter) its located near the rear axle on the drivers side. any one know what it is? it has pipes going out from the top.

That's yer fuel sedimentor.
It should be removed and cleaned regularly.

Not sure on that one mate - I'm a Defender man meeself.
Try a search for sedimentor - this subject has been covered a gazillion times before.

just done that mate, havnt found anything that states how to remove it lol. although i searched for sedimentor on ebay and it shows that they are the same of discovery rangerover and defenders. so must all be same.

just a bolt through from the top 11mm spanner if memory serves, the cannister just pulls off from the bottom, (have a container ready and close yer eyes). it'll be full o ****e, make sure the seals are ok and re-fit it. happy days

cheers mate, will get it done tommorow. just done full service on it today but didnt know what it was hence me asking. at least i know now.
