what is a good compression test kit for TD4

I was wonder if someone had advise on a good but not too expensive compression tester for testing my TD4. I have seen them ranging from £25 to £350 quite a difference. had trouble with the hippo not starting when warm. the starter motor solenoid has given up so I have ordered a kit to fix... if this does not clear up problem I think the next is a compression test.

If it starts ok when cold then I'd be looking at the camshaft sensor......spray it with some freeze spray when the engine is warm to see if this helps......if so change sensor.

what he ^^^^^ said is a definite I got stranded on a beach like that once but it just started as the tide was coming in

yeah I understand that warm start issues are can be cam sensor... but really I would like to know of a decent compression tester..... anyone?
