Parked it next to the village fountain, and pressure washed it and the fountain. Both were filthy.

Pressure washed the engine bay, and let it dry in the sun before wading into electrics. Found the water had made the LH indicator repeater start working! Still can't find the oil leak, but hopefully the control technique guy on Thursday can't either...

As far as I can see, all the legally required electrics are now working. I'm not going to dare disturb them by trying to get the radio working, or the USB charger until after it the paperwork and wife are out the way...

Reinstated the polythene water deflectors behind the door cards in a final attempt to get rid of the small lake in drivers footwell after heavy rain!

Did you close the windows? My old gaffa found that the be the cause of his wet front seat and lake in driver's footwell.
We took the 'piece' a bit the first time but when he did it again about three weeks later we were relentless for some time!

As a result of being stranded on the A74 the other day I drained the gearbox oil today to confirm me fears that the 5th gear layshaft bearing is caput😭. The drain plug had a very big glob of stuff on it and the oil had a lovely metalic sheen, especially when I stired it. No big lumps though. The current dilema is do I risk driving 250miles in 4th to my prefered specialist to get it fixed of have it recovered there.

Took it to the mountains for the weekend and saw this lovely pair in the 'Vinmonopolet' (booze store) car park...

Wish they were on my driveway :)

Fitted a new injector harness and frees off the turbo wastegate

The started getting right into the chassis and bodywork
Then after ****ting myself and having three breakdowns I walked the dogs

Some big choices ahead and I’m glad I didn’t sell it.

I put my bike in the back and dropped my 90 off for MOT, rode 4 miles home, (first time I have rode a bike in 20 years, my body was actually steaming when I got home) it's terrifying riding a bike on the roads now. got the phone call to say MOT was done and happily it passed with no advisories. Happy days.
4 mile bike ride back to pick the Landy up did not seem as bad.

Sorted out my indicator issue (on another thread). Hazards working but no indicators. After renewing every earth back & front as a precaution attention turned to the hazard switch (apparently a known issue). Still nothing doing. Out of desperation I pulled every fuse & found the fuel gauge fuse (I think thats what picture portrays) had blown. Replaced that and unbelievably all the indicators now work! In retrospect the low fuel light on the dash was glowing so that might have been a clue. No idea why though.

Earth leakage in the dash or fuse box?

Finished the last corner of replacing the brake shoes on my 101. Still quite depressed as even with all the adjusters still fully backed off they are binding as soon as i got pressure back on the pedal.

Does your brake brakeplate have the adjuster post to square up the shoe, may be worth checking the squareness of shoes to hub, also mine was binding after putting on new adjusters which where making hard contact with shoe web when wheel was on, they needed to be removed and a washer put on outside of backplate to give some clearance, brakes hit hot now
