One of those days everything went wrong, Whine coming from the back axle, thought I would reverse it up on some ramps. Managed to drive it off the ramps and buggered up the body work.
Topped up the rear diff, the plastic top of the bottle came off inside the diff. Had to remove the diff cover, Now I need a gasket. Hazard lights not working, need a new switch. So now I have a whine coming from the rear axle, a leak from the rear diff, Vibration coming from the front axle which I have been trying to identify for the last 12 months and so has my local Landy garage. Oh the joys of owning a Land Rover.

I'm sure the ones the truckers have are much louder. Mine are 150 db and on the box said they were truckers. But then they were made in China so who knows if they are 150 db?

My mate has a pair of lorry ones, about 18" long, I'm going to try and releave him of them tomorrow.

how big was the stump? easier to pull if you leave them 3-4 feet tall or pull with a very short strap/chain as it pulls more vertical than horizontal. Also if you had a spade and dug around the roots would make it easier

It's a gate post, just the concrete stump of it left. It was rotten then some chap drove into it with trailer and snapped it clean off. I dug down the concrete lump and got a strop around the underside of it, gave it a few tugs and checked to see how far it had moved. But my land rover had changed shape as well!

Didn't know you had concrete trees in the UK

Bent the back into shape and pulled the rest of a fence post out without any damage being caused! Desperate to buy a tractor. Anyone got a massy 135 they don't want?

Got the exhaust fitted today, it seems to have improved low down power a little, can't tell if it better at higher revs as the fuel filter is blocking up.
It's louder than I expected, think the wife is going to moan as I leave for work at 6am.

I don't think ive ha day in the 2 months since ive bought it i havent worked on it.
today i greased the front universal joints and prop. Sorted out the horn and main beam and then worked out only one main beam bulb flashed thanks to a blown fuse

pulled a bmw out a ditch with the help of a fender. then tried to start her at work and was dead as a dodo. bump starting worked though so managed to get home and started looking at possible problems. pulled the starter out and found the teeth chewed off. any reasons this could have been caused

Changed the fuel filter today and now have the full effect of the exhaust, it pulls much cleaner, form lower down and builds speed with less effort.
And the wife hasn't moaned about the noise, yet.

fitted new wipers before winter sets in,an the bast@rd bit me,took a chunk out of me finger coz of an awkward slide lock.............oh,its beer time:D

It's will get better don't worry! I've just plopped a whole new engine in and I'm still having trouble. Things leaks, stuff breaks, others tuff wears out.... all because of that badge. But it's a small price to pay for driving a fender!
