went to lro show last weekend was the kids and dog's first camping trip and I was impressed with their behaviour. had to lengthen the legs on my roof rack as it was for a defender truck cab so was too short to clear the disco roof.
I'm now using my cav for comuting to try to save some money on fuel 36mpg beats 26-28mpg so that should be a few quid saved for more landy bits :D
Im currently making 2" lift blocks by cutting 2" box section to be bolted between the axle and spring seats. is this a bad idea is there any problems I might be overlooking?

It's actually bolted to the metal plate (the one with the holes in), not the grill. I just cut a hole for it to stick through. I can take some closer pics if you like
ah fair play I want front and rear anderson connectors for jump leads as i always have trouble with the croc clips and my battery and always seem to be facing the wrong way to jump someone

Ha, I know what you mean.

I put my Anderson in mainly because I changed my seats and it's an arse to remove it every time. There are plenty of places to mount it up front and at the back. I'm just fussy.

The metal bit I was talking about is the bit in this picture, below the actual grill. It has a lip at the top so can be mounted horizontal

Been thinking about it for a while and the last P&P I did no one could hear my horn, had to send the winch bitch to get help a couple of times.

Well part of my Paddocks order arrived today, an air filter, the parts that I really need didn't (the exhaust system).
Not sure if Fedex fecked up as invoice states Number of parcels 2 and the Fedex sticker has item 1 of 2, but only one box delivered.

Just been sorting out the carpets for the front footwells. Years of wet/dry cycles had turned the foam backing hard and it was coming off in chunks. Removed all the affected bits and glued in replacement backing made from an old camping roll mat. Looks much better now as the carpets hold their shape in the footwell. Slowly becoming civilised :)

Fitted the air horns today, there 135db and LOUD, I hate to think what the 150db ones are like.

Exhaust still hasn't arrived

Changed the starter motor. Them air horns look the part, do you just take a feed from the std horn?

They come with a relay as they'll draw more current than standard horns, so you'll need some wire, connectors and a fuse/fuse holder.
I made up a small bracket to mount the horns on and the compressor bolted in where one of the old horns was.

Over a few weeks I put a new engine and transfer box in,new radius arm bushes and new lights on the back. Now got another years not!

Put a discovery transfer box in so it goes slightly faster. But when I am on full lock the back wheels seem to lock up in the diretion I'm turning.

I had an almighty bang coming out of tesco,! Then I nasty whine so I knocked the box back into neutral and back into high range and it stopped. It's almost as if its stuck on lock. Anyone heard of this before?

tcuted the whole truck and got rid of most of the laning scratches. was planning on some wiring aswell but the cleaning of my cav and disco took all day
