yesterday the rear brakes were down to the metal so i stripped it down and ended up fitting new pads and calipers then when i'd finished i got the dreaded click from the starter motor. it had done it a few times in the past but always started on the next try. after doing some searches on here i ordered the kit to rebuild the solenoid so i'm sat waiting for mr postman now so I can get to it.

Started stripping my decent bits off the Disco .. it's going!

Reckon I'll do better stripping and selling or scrapping it altogether and starting with another than trying to fix everything .. no garage, or dry storage so it's awkward getting and keeping stuff dry!

Picked the beast up from the garage ..............an i,m now 650 quid lighter:mad:

But running better since the head was skimmed and flushed!

But alternator bearings sound shot!..........Bollocks.....ma savings are no more thanks to the bloody thing!

Put a plate on the N/S rear outer sill, changed the water pump coz it was rumbling and also the tension idler coz that was screaming ...

then she can go and pass her MOT sometime soon... :D

I cursed the 300tdi auto, profusely.

Random and intermittent very loud belt squeal accompanied by the stench of burning rubber. Does it do it for me (no) does it do it when the wife is taking the kids to school (yes), it surely cant be any of the bearings cos I've changed em all, so I'm thinking pump shafy bollocks (god knows), i dunno tho cos it's too dark to mess about atm, it'll need to wait to Saturday. Fat hairy bollocks is what it is.

(advice welcome)

seemed to spend most of the time looking for pump sprocket inspection cover screws that sue kept slinging on the floor

:pound: True

But you did get to spend a lot of time creating the new heater for the workshop :D:D
