Got lots to do to mine! Bearing at back needs sorting. Outrigger needs replacing (I have it, just need someone with a welder). Battery box needs replacing (like the look of those aluminium riveted jobs) chassis needs painting. Got a tub of Hammerite. Just need a jet wash and a sanding disc to clean off any surface rust and flaky paint. Chassis doesn't have much rot ATM so want to get that done. Diff seals need replacing.

My hand break has gone from not working to jamming itself on after a long trip. So guessing springs are worn and the cable is jamming.

And I want to give it a service. Replace some turbo hoses with some nice silicone ones that last. Creat an alternative route for the turbo to inter cooler hose because the alternator keeps eating the hose!

So lots to do..... Just needs some bloody monies! :(

Well this morning had the trailing arm fixed as the nut had worked loose and the axle was moving.

After that it was noticed that the engine had got worse so we removed the top and I learned how to use feeler gauges to adjust the things underneath it. I know about the rule of nine now :D:D

Then it was decided that removing the head was a good idea so spent the rest of the day attempting to do that :D It is now finished as nrgserv finished doing a gearbox and did it for me :D

Off to buy a few gaskets and other essentials tomorrow and then it all needs to go back together.

I might not have done a very good job but I learned where a lot of engine bits are and what they do.

Thanks Neil :D:D

you did an excellent job sue.
i'll sort a list o gaskets and stick em on the other thread.

found the cause of me clunk on the disco, seems a shocker bottom washer and corresponding bush has buggered off.
bit bad really as I only fitted em last week. would have said I forgot to put washer on but kit came with 2 shockers and only enough bushes and washers for one! (twas the side I put the stuff on that came with kit, had to scrat round for bushes and washers for other side. bloody m14 x 1.5 fine thread nut! could I find one?)
(did yer know that series alternators have m14 x 1.5 nuts holding the pulley on!)

fitted fefurbed radius arms (new bushes all round) another arse of a job as passenger side bolt had welded itself to the inner bush!!!
all done now and shes driving like new un and seems to have cured me death wobble!!!:D:D:D

Got an MOT :D well one anyway.....tother ones nearly there, just needs a new side-light (on order) sort out a feed to the numberplate light and a noo numberplate.

Took me ages to get the main/dip switch working, fiddly bastid thing.....got there though and if it misbehaves I should have another tomorrow

Got a whole load of parts, sorted out the ignition problem and got the collar pulled off the output shaft, ready to work on tomorrow!

Tonight I'll just be doing a bit of research and relaxing as I've got the wiring down :D

Went shopping for the head gasket and other bits but they didn't have any bolts and one of the old ones is in bad condition. So we couldn't finish the job tonight.

Still I cleaned up the head and some other bits (cant remember what they were) and Neil did the bit which is still in the Landy. Now have nice shiny clean bits waiting to get put back together tomorrow :D:D:D

Not all my Landy but made a new front brake pipe for a crashed 90 and changed the bolts on the panhard rod brackets as they got pulled through and threads stripped. Then tried to sort an ignition issue on a 2.8 diesel a faulty fuel solenoid feed so the engine ran on.

Then had my pump tuned and turbo adjusted, what a difference actually overtook someone going uphill! :D

Bought some RR HD Springs (Police Spec) and shock absorbers for my Defender 90 to soften the ride; Springs only £43 from Craddocks, hope it works! The springs I have on it are way to hard for my type of driving style.
