Couple days ago I painted some patches of light rust on the bulkhead behind bits of the dash, painted the drivers side footwell over some rust coming up, Painted a bit on the side of the doors, hinges etc etc.
Yesterday i painted two of the wheel hubs, do the other two when I have time, then i will have to replace the wheel nuts as they are rusty. Next I shall paint the bottom of the rear door as that has some patches of rust coming up. Then... time to buy a larger tin of hammerite and tackle the chassis, rear cross member, underside of the floor.... basically everything under my old girl :)

fitted new lift pump cos old one was leaking..

swopped front springs over to see if it would cure the lean to the o/s..

no difference so its not weak spring..

what would cause the o/s front spring to be 3/4 inch shorter than the n/s....

New lift pump (SNAP!) - replaced as suspected diaphragm was allowing fuel to drain back causing it to have to turn over several times when left before starting

Has made it much more 'perky':)

started investigating the weird oil leak from the head gasket and took the head off

god knows how the bugger was running the way it was

tomorows fun n games will be renewing the valve stem oil seals cleaning the pre combustion chambers out putting it all back together and preying it doesnt smoke its taters off

then ill have another go at stopping me smoking

Wired up a cigarette lighter on top of the bulkhead behind the passenger seat off the second battery, ready for Billing so I can use my new electric coolbox without fear of my engine not starting, and also to save the wire's from coming off my dashboard straight into the rear load area, across the gear lever and cubby box :D

Just arrived home on the back of a transporter (after a 3.5hr wait in the pi$$ing rain):violent:

Looks like the head gasket has gone, overheated, lost all coolant at Chester, re-filled and tried to limp home and she very suddenly overheated 30 mins from home, lot's of steam from rear of engine ... gutted! Trying to decide whether to go and get rat ar$ed or not as this is just the icing on the cake for a very bad week :(
