Went to a job to set some mole traps ,luckily on the coast as my road looks like this !

Finally completed the wiring of lights/dash and getting everything put back together:

upload_2021-1-9_12-8-28.jpeg Small disaster a couple of weekends ago when faulty switch and a poor decision by myself to jump my secondary battery resulted in the heated windscreen harness turning into a cigar lighter. Luckily only the wires associated with the heated windscreen were melted - I'll look at some extra fuses before reinstating.

Thus ends something like 11 years to get the raptor dash put in while many other problems got sorted and upgraded on the way.

2 advisories,

handbrake pads low, but it's a X-eng disc thing, and they said it's just because they can't see them and an oil leak, that they said looked an old one, but had to list it.

Pretty sure it's an old one, or it was from the original engine breather pipe that was just left dangling:rolleyes:, (now piped into the chassis leg)

So pretty happy, never even fitted the reflectors yet! :D
 
Fitted a optimill quick release boss and a OMP superleggera steering wheel today

I fitted some underlay to underside of bonnet, started it up and heard a bit rattle noise, checked the water pump pulley bolts and nipped them up,a turn then checked the crank pulley bolts and two were missing and one loose:eek:
Put spare bolts in with studlock and noise gone . Note to self Must check bolts more often
 
I had a look at my TD5 with the Nanocom. A whole load of faults had appeared including ones to do with the EGR and the air conditioning. It no longer has an EGR and I haven't used the air conditioning since last summer. There were slightly more intelligible ones such as 'airflow circuit logged low' and 'high speed crank error'. The faults may relate to an incident a few days ago when I was driving it. The engine hesitated for a few moments and picked up again, but with the engine warning light illuminated. On switching it off and on again I completed the journey with no warning lights. On clearing the faults and starting up again the airflow fault came back and there is a consistently zero reading from the airflow meter. I think the airflow meter may have failed and the other faults generated because the zero airflow signal didn't match the other inputs. Yes, maybe even the aircon fault because there's some discussion online of people experiencing poor acceleration with a failed MAF when the aircon is on.

I think the finger of suspicion is pointing at the MAF, especially seeing as the supply at its multiplug is still live. So I'll try another.

That is quite probable, your are more likely to know than I.
As a general point, the aircon is less likely to give problems if you use it in the winter as well. Systems and mechanisms like to be used.

Yes indeed, I usually give it a run once in a while just to make sure it's still operational. I couldn't remember doing so lately, at least not since the last time I checked for fault codes.
