Rather than today but rather through the weekend gone & monday ..I've replaced the rear brake discs and pads, handbrake shoes along with the adjusters and Levers. Took a while and a 2nd set of hands Phil the neighbour helped getting the old drum discs off plus helped putting the springs back on rather tricky even for 2 people. Then I've finally got the handbrake adjusted and working well.. after some re-reading of the advice I'd found here and the other place ..I'd missed a step and not loosened off the internal nut before working the adjusters on the drum ...with all the discs pads plus handbrake done the breaking system is ready for its MOT and safely stopping when i need it too

trying getting it wrong, learning and living as i get it right

Tried to take the back box off the hippo for no less than 2 hours, nut on the clamp is seized solid and I've been throwing wd40 at it every day for a week in preparation, lots of swearing and grazed knuckles. Gave up, came inside and opened a beer, need to buy myself an electric saw and chop it off instead

Another day in the passenger seat.

Water temp now happy at 92’ & battery charged on 60 mile run.

I have decided the D2 is on short term.

Was going to fix the tbox intermediate shaft weep. but looking at the rear chassis it is not looking healthy, last 6 months appears to ahve got worse. Will see what the pros think in a months time.

Looking at getting a replacement to do my 20K commute.

Cheers

Reckon it is time to use the geen oval ofr fun and A N Other for the miles, the D2 did 28K last year, with commute , business miles and few personal ones chucked in. the 29MPG is not the best. Was just looking at a Dacia Duster ..LOL.

Cheers
There is always the Great Wall Steed........ I'll get me coat :D

still can't find why the brake light fuse keeps blowing. Something going on with the reverse switch most likely candidate now. Fuse box rewired to isolate reverse light circuit, I'll have to mend it proper like when I get a new switch.
