Started work on the rusty port (sorry) near side bulkhead pillar and floor, which saw me getting excited with the angle grinder.
Pics to follow in a couple of weeks ....I think.

Just got back from my MOT, which was passed, fortunately. Of interest re: discussions on Landyzone is the fact that I have taken off the EGR and have a stainless steel exhaust without a catalytic converter. Nobody said anything and no MOT faults were logged. It's a 2006 model year TD5. I have the relevant parts in a cupboard and could have re-fitted them had it been a fail point, but there is no need.

However the man said I could do with a new switch on the clutch master cylinder as the revs don't drop automatically when you press the clutch. That's not an MOT fail point so I'll tackle that at my leisure.

Dismantled the dashboard to tighten up the wiper wheelboxes, installed double washer jets in place of the pathetic single squirty thing.

Had another curry - Chicken Kusbo with Mushroom Rice.......

Went to put a new fan belt on. Decided to have a poke about while I was there as I'd noticed a Ford sticker on the alternator last week and the belt was a bit misaligned. Learnt there's no Series 3 alternator bracket fitted, just left-overs from the dynamo, and the "through-bolt" doesn't go through the alternator at all it's just sat loose in the block. It was working so I'm going to put it back on with some packing washers to true up the belt run a bit (cheers turboman). Another job for the jobs list but not urgent - put a Lucas alternator on with the right bracketry.

Stared at it through the window as it’s peeing it down out ther!

Wiped off the Dunlop gauges and adjusted tracking, took a bit of slack out of the steering box and nipped the steering damper nut up a bit...she doesn’t act like a bucking bronco now when I drive near the side of the road, which is nice!

Hi all, an update now I've a chance to sit down and catch up with the forum, in the last 2 weeks

Last weekend I've successfully completed my first ever oil change after using looking in the forums plus utube plus my next door neighbour who maintains his own Hillux, the tricky bit was getting the 27mm ratchet to "lock" onto the filter housing but found i could put the ratchet almost in place from underneath wedge it on the main spar under it, then get from under the car and push it on to catch from the top side of the engine and then get back under to unscrew... easy once i figgered it out

And yesterday I changed the front brake discs and pads which took a while as again its a first for me took me most of the day but feeling good after doing it again use of forums plus utube, this time no neighbour support ..

Next job is to change the rears in a week or so as waiting on parts delivery and a dry day as i have no garage to keep dry in.

Finally I'd like to thank all those that posted in threads here about the jobs I've just been able to complete as without your priceless tips and information I wouldn't of been able to post that I had done anything at all to my landie today

Removed the bench seats from the back of the 90 and replaced with two inward facing (one each side) exmoor half’n’half and changed the seatbelts while I was at it!! More comfortable seating for the those in the back (on the odd occasion I have them) and have kept load space

Started mine & moved it so the mrs could go for an MOT.
