Got to re-do my winch rope, but got a flat front tyre!! Tomorrow will do ..

Had the instrument cluster off for the millionth time, think I've found/sorted an intermittent ignition fault with a handful of re-crimped connections and some fettling of spade connectors on the ignition switch. Think its more crimps and heat shrink than cabling now , issue hasn't happened again after a dozen engine starts and drive about so hopefully my ignition won't loose power now whilst trundling along.. time will tell,

then because I "fixed" that, had a look at why the stereo was having power issues (narrowed down to a knackered fuse in the end, probably because of the ignition coming on and off repeatedly whilst trundling along... tidied all the cabling up as well while I was at it (read: removed more sh**te wiring handiwork from previous owner(s))

then because I did that, fitted my CB radio because I added the cabling needed behind the clock to connect it in...

I took mine for a drive to the local shop to get it some new grease , two grease gun tubes and 500g tub , should keep it and the Disco happy for another year or so.

I’ve fitted new front discs and pads to the disco. Oooo and replaced the front indicator after bumping into my tool box in the garage haha.

drained the coolant and refilled 50/50 with top quality 5 year blah blah antifreeze

One of the first things I added to the ‘to do’ list when I first got the 90 a few years back. Fit a rear door switch! Reasonably easy to do just not as simple as it should be. No cable for it behind the rear light panel, so had to run one from the roof.

For those wanting to do the same, there’s a block connector above drivers head in the corner (under headlining) which I assume comes up the a-pillar. The cable you need is purple with blue trace! So I just ran a cable back, fitted a switch and bodged a button pusher-innerer (long screw odd door card).

Such a simple luxury. Rear light when you open the door and added benefit of door being alarmed now

Found the stereo was knackered in the 90, perhaps they do not like water ??? So ordered a new one .

I took it for its yearly medical and it passed, good old 90.

Have got some wheels that I can't fit due to wrong wheel nuts... Doh!!!!!

After 2 years of "should sort that", finally got round to securing the cooling fan cowling with some actual nuts rather than "hopeful thinking"

Fitted a jate ring too so I have some kind of recovery point.

Fitted a bilge blower in the blower air intake for extra more betterer de-mist, only bought it just over a year ago
Discovered my wipers need some TLC somewhere as well... onto the list it goes.

Failed once again to undo the bolts on the cover of the Fuel Injection Pump though.

New stub axle and bearings on the near side of my Disco.
I can now drive again without that horrendously scary noise with me muttering continually, "make it stop make it stop make it stop make it stop"

Series 3 seat box removed as the one that came with it had been butchered. Replacement sourced on ebay, shot blasted and etched primed ready for painting. However, removing the seat box revealed a few more bodges that I'll fix rather than rehide - new floor, bulkhead to tunnel cowl....... I might get on the road one day

P38 - tilted the sunroof-bloody thing wouldn't shut-had to manually wind it back. Will have to check the fuse!
A few things now starting to go wrong after 11 years of ownership!
BeCM had to be unlocked a couple of moths ago and now the sunroof.

Still not bad in 11 years!

Gorn all posh wiv me noo cab lights



Made up out a few bits left over from a job about 3 years ago that turned up while having a tidy in the workshop

Fitted my nice and shiny Ashcroft ATB diff center into my diff, time for some snow to test her out!!

Full service, oil, air and filter, replaced the leaky injector harness, painted my rocker cover and changed a few bolts to stainless along the way. Oh, and some new LED headlights, but the lenses need cleaning out and re sealing.

Actually, for the first time since getting, it took it off road (laning)!!! and didn't get stuck either!!! , only thing that broke was the Driver's window, but the mechanism was knackered anyway, now its just a little bit more knackered... not bad at all.

Have to say I was very impressed by how capable my 90 was, though my left knee is now knackered. and my upgraded blowers kept me lovely and toasty even with a window open.

Not looking forward to the cleaning though,

Some nice cluster lights, new windscreen, some wiring ready for lights and booked a remap with alive tuning for Thursday

Had to cut the grille surround and grille on the 90 to make it so that I could fit the winch cover , I had spent time making the grille follow the contours of the winch and then got the bag...Doh.
