Thank you, yes, my thoughts exactly. Recently moved to countryside, so normal transport (motorbikes) just will not work on the farm tracks and unclassified roads I need to use to reach stable tarmac, never mind gritted. Thus I needed a 4wd. I know Disocs / Defenders very well (should never got rid of my 1985 110 V8), but they have skyrocketed in price. This came up, right price, right location, right time, enough to get sorted for winter.
In priority order as budget permits…..
Timing belt & water pump, Haldex service, remove swirl flaps, bushes, winter weather protection, new battery, new Xtrons head unit with CarPlay integrated dash cam reverse cam and DAB, many farkles from Powerful Ltd…
Only been recently researching, god help the credit card….!

If it were me, I’d change the oil in the gearbox, PTU and rear diff too, just for peace of mind.
And get a really good battery.

Looks like a twin of my 2010.
I've had mine 15 months and its been fine. No issues.

Fixed the HDC (thanks for your recent pic' postings @andyfreelandy - super helpful) and am now ready for my first big trip this year. Dodgy connector!! This will fix other wet weather problems seen via pscan and showing up in the display. I expect to cover 2500 miles in the next week from France to Belgium/Germany/Netherlands and back. Pscan is coming along too, just in case... 
She doesn't look so bad at 320,000 km. The new clutch and drive line bearings have transformed my hippo and I shall keep her a few more years I think. Next jobs are to replace the air system pipes (EGR elbow burst last week and I can see some wear marks that inevitably will split in the next 6 months) and then do the headlining. At least I won't have to work in this field soon, due to get my workshop back in June

Soldered a new O2 sensor for the Lodgy and had it in for the(equivalent) MOT.
The Freelander had the pleasure of taking my wife to work. She really doesn't like driving it. This should give me more leeway for the repair budget.
Still waiting for my seals from Rimmer Bros. The package has been in "handling" at the post sorting station since the 25th.

completed 1640 km in 2 days. I am going to double check tomorrow but I have close to 18km/l (51 mpg)!!! I wondered if the silicon oil would help reduce engine friction but that number if it checks out tomorrow night will be incredible.

Its the drive by councils to make parking spaces only suitable for tiny little electric city cars.
Proper cars have to double stack in the spaces.

Going to a fellow meet member, was asked by a few if i ever sell to let them know, I've decided to get my self a little van, it's going not to far away Bewdley and i will see at our meets anyways, don't need two Freelander 2s so have stuck with the MY14 Orkney.
