Changed my rears too cause the handbrake was useless. Same as you made a big difference. Did you use new springs and pins?
Nupe, just soaked the old ones in brake cleaner till they came up good! The trick is not levering them in odd ways while trying to remove em!

I was worried mine might break or be badly corroded so bought new before even taking the hubs off. I probably could have got away with the originals but for the sake of £11 I thought it wasn't worth it.

Not today but i made a custom battery clamp ..cnc cutting....stainless steel

MOT'd it :)
Fitted new brake shoes and track rod ends last week then on Sat I checked lights etc then power washed underside and cleaned outside and in and she flew through.
Now just have to figure out why the header tank was empty. :(

Ordered a set of replacement Dobinson springs today. Sorted out a 'spare' set of rims to put mud tyres on. The are tidier that what's on my FL!
Island 4x4 must use a slow boat to deliver their parts - ordered on the 12th not here yet [ lower tie bar, heater hose and an oil filter]

Hi! Is is standard springs, or will they give you any lift? Thanks...

Head gasket, timing belt, water pump, full service

My first K series didn't disappoint

Oh and Hi, was searching for a bit of info and landed in this site

Replaced vacuum hose that goes from T connector to EGR solenoid
It had worn right through just before the solenoid where it is wrapped around a metal pipe.........

Brakes seem to work better now - lol

Start to remove the front cylinder head to change the gasket (V6). Missing E12 torx socket to remove the bolts.

Replaced brake disks this evening. Never changed disks before so was surprised how easy the job is. The longest part was cleaning up the new disks. They were new genuine LR from a main dealer - but have obviously been sitting in a corner of their parts warehouse for a long time. There wasn't a spec of rust on them , but waxy coating took quite a bit of elbow grease and meths to clean up. Still I'm not complaining, $50 (£20) for a pair of disks from a stealer is a bit of a result.

One of the pistons took quite a bit of persuasion to retract enough to slide the caliper & pads off the old disk (lip around the edge and reason for replacing). Probably means it will need some TLC soon.

checked my brakes the other day - surprisingly they look good on all 4 corners

Just waiting for new tyres, 4 shock absorbers and then i can get a geometry check
