What have you done to your Freelander today

Today I have replaced front anti-roll-bar bushes, replaced both track-rod-ends (had it tracked too) and replaced and reset the rear windscreen wiper function.

Changed the relay for the auxillary socket from a normally open to a normally closed, with a bit of wiring, so it's live with the ignition off, not on.
I drive to work very early on Monday morning, 15 mins, out all week in a truck, then drive back home Friday evining. The car can then sit all weekend, so sometimes suffer from a flat battery at this time of year.
A £10 Maplins 1.5 amp solar charger plugged into the aux socket should keep the battery topped up. I have a spare battery in the boot connected to one of these solar chargers and it's always fully charged for jump starting

Gave it a bath and then played with some more sticky backed plastic!

Heard a nasty ping as I opened the rear door - Cable has snapped on the regulator!

Looks like that's gonna be fun to fix - May just replace the whole thing:mad:

Ahh well.....A piece of wood to hold the glass in place will have to do for now and try to get the wife to remember not to use the back door.

A little winter photo shot of my pair :D . Third one went for winter trip.

The first on the left need to learn a lot from that on right...
Today the battery say "bye bye" - but that was a spectacular show. :D Starts as usual, put both on sun spot to defrost it properly...

Battery warning start to flash..., then ABS ECU shut down (four amigos), next the SRS ECU shut down (SRS warn). Then gauges shut down (everything goes to zero) - but engine still running but only a little reaction for accelerator... and here was only about -9 or -10 degrees in night.

L-series firing up from one turn of starter  . So, order new large battery for Td4 - 800 CCA, 85 Ah

Had a straight stainless steel exhaust fitted, and MOT the other week with no cat. Passed guy at the station said they are not needed on diesels I got better results than last year when I had the original system with cat. It does get blocked and chokes the car cost me a turbo rebuild as well runs sweet as a nut now and sounds like a bit of a beast when you floor it. I would recommend getting it done next thing is remap and changing out that flat air intake for aluminium pipe to stop the restriction. Just in the process of changing the LEDs from green to white, easy enough to do looks smart too.
