What have you done to your Freelander today

Drove it and loved it some more!!.I almost feel guilty,as mine has'nt gone wrong yet!!!! (knocks on wood very quicky).

Not today, but this month

New driveshaft front
o-ring between IRD and gearbox
fitted 52 mm throttle body + new air filter
Recon VCU fitted
UJ propshaft
New rubbers exhaust
top and upper engine mount
Various bolts (where "lost")
Camshaftcover seal

To do:
Diff mounts rear
camshaft oil seals
O2 sensor (lamda) replacement

to do tomorrow:
clean half of Scotland off freddy
remove his prop
fit side bars
fit silencer guard
contemplate how much to spend getting him running with 4 wheels again .....
... remove nodding dog unceremoniously placed on dash by my mother.....

Wheel bearing arrived in the post today so cracked on with that ball joint nut was a complete nightmare removed the new sensor

after taking the hub to the engineering place got that fitted come back refitted all to find that the abs light still on used hawkeye to find no power to sensor so disconnected it all tested by hand resistance and NOTHING not squat so had to order a new sensor

Yesterday, had the windscreen replaced due to mahusive crack. Turns out it was the factory fitted screen which has lasted 11 years! It's the only part of the car which hasn't been taken apart and put back on (wrongly) by the previous owner! :violent:

Fitted recon VCU from Bell Engineering....feels a lot better now it's not in Mondo mode...doesn't get stuck in mud any more , even though there's a very slight off-balance vibration (not enough to worry about). Put it back together exactly as it came apart, so must have been wrong to start with. Might try playing tomorrow, but not that worried as it's not too bad even at 70mph

Got the luvverly job of getting the old bearings off the old VCU tomorrow before sending it back.

Next job....sunroof (that's gonna be expensive methinks....it's completely knackered looking at the seized rails on it)

I WILL have the whole car working all at the same time

Cold chisel and hammer and they will fly off.

Washed, waxed and done all the black plastics on the Hippo.

Well today i have the pleasure of replacing all the steel brake pipes with nice new copper ones as the steel ones have seen better days. Saying that they have lasted 12 years

Took the VCU and props of
VCU had 105000 miles of use so I replace it when I get a bit more dosh
I feel saver driving it now

got a s/hand 8pin clock from our local scrappy for £2 but had no more time to do anything more as had my mgf 1.8i engine to strip

Replace both track rod ends, only took 1 hour to do using my new £10 ball joint splitter from e-bay.

Replaced front discs and pads today, nice easy job.:tea:

I gave the fuel pressure sensor a going over with WD40 and changed the long vacuum hose that runs from the turbo actuator solenoid to the reservoir as I noticed that was well past it's best. I re-routed it slightly at the reservoir which should hopefully prolong it's life.

All was going well until I dropped the screw that holds the plastic inlet on, but all was well after a frantic search with a torch and telescopic magnetic probe!

Mounted a spade on the spare wheel! Even Lockable!

Fitted a new touch screen radio. There is a lot of wires involved even though there where no wire cutting involved. Thinking of getting a wireless rear camera for it now.

I gave it a bit of a clean.

Just picked it up from having it's rear windows tinted black.

Covered my rusty wheel nuts.

removed the tow pack, fitted and exhaust guard and gave it a wash...

Fitted a reversing camera in my horsebox and monitor in the hippo to key an eye on her. Used a wireless system from ebay £40 but a crap reception so moved back to wired, excellent quality image. Wired straight into horsebox electrics to get a constant feed
