What have you done to your Freelander today

Fitted the new top intercooler hose. Took it for a spin and the thing blew off! Easy to put back on and tighten up and actually I was impressed at the fact there was enough pressure in there to blow it off. Runs sweetly now with plenty of low end grunt. Also tried to refit the rear door seal rubbers as have had some water coming ino the 'tool box' - may help? Found the diagnostic plug (LHD car) - on pasenger side so if and when I get a Hawkeye I can sort out my amigos (need to check whether the bulbs have gone or whether the ciruit board has been abused). Vey happy with my project Freelander at present.

after last weeks mud baths, bumpers and fenders off for cleaning, amazing how much dirt can get behind the front wheelarch
next time I get them out I'll cut a hole in the front fenders (underside where they fit to the sills) so it drains out by itself

Well actually, on Saturday - picked-up new (to me), Freelander Td4 Sport.

Just the oil separator and possible EGR blanking mod to sort.

:)

Hi Guys,
I have a Freelander 1, currently I have a knocking noise from the rear diff area driveshafts, only happens when I reverse off the drive/3 point turn (couple of hard metallic knocks) and also when I straighten up again 2/3 hard metalic knocks. Removed diff pan on Saturday a little wear but no obvious missing gear teeth. No bits in the oil, no major swarf on diff filler plugs.
The noise reminds me of when I used to drive a Mini Mk1 CV joints.
Checked all suspension mountings for wear and replaced diff mountings.
New tyres all round so not transmission wind up.
Any thoughts please

Today i have been mainly changing my right hand side outer door seal. Badly bubbled.
(part no, cge 000180) so i could fit heko wind deflectors.

Inner door panel off to remove mirror. Easy enough 3 torx screws holding mirror. All threads rusty.
New seal went in easy enough. Cleaned and oil threads
Happy days.

What I did was break something, whilst working on the crankcase breather I managed to break one of the fuel return pipe connectors on top of an injector. Does anybody know where I can get one, or would I have to buy a new injector.

You can get a new pipe complete for £30.00ish. Part number 8510322

went for a drive after resetting my ABS/TC/HDC lights and went and did the weeks shopping

once the lights came back on i used the hawkeye to check again

once home and carried the shopping in ( wife a lazy sod lol)

jacked up the drivers wheel to find i had slight play in bearing and and that the ABS sensor was catching the ABS ring but only in certain place

well not done anything to the Freelander today but have priced my next lot of bits for the car

emailed Bell for the VCU details and price
then priced the following, Front propshaft (mine was cracked at the UJ), VCU bearings, rear diff mounts, ordered a front wheel bearing so now awaiting its arrival

not had much luck since owner the Freelander but least things are getting replaced so should become a little more reliable (he says) lol
