What have you done to your Freelander today

fixed headlight. thought it was a dodgy bulb but turned out to be a bad earth.

next on list is new arial and window reg.
then timing belt some fresh antifreeze and a fuel heater for the veg. put a load of petrol in it today but doesnt like it

shield aluminum 6mm fitted

I have put some newer Hella 3000 and also brought the stone guards to put on them they now match my KC's and the head lamp guard's well I like them any way .

I am doing a alloy under engine guard I will photo it while doing it but it make take a while

pics....

the one I am going to do will be a detachable from the frame so you do not have to take the whole frame of to do a oil change.

So I thought and I doing but it was too much work and not worth the effort for eight screws .....

Oil / Filter change and upgraded the lower engine mount to poly (Ive never had a mount push out with just hand pressure before!?) VCU and bearings ordered - fingers crossed thats it for a bit

taken it to the garage only to be told the transfer box is fooked any one know where in the midlands i can get a reasonable priced second hand 1

changed headlight bulbs for a set of Ring ultra xenon £13. and what a difference they make!!
i can see where im going for the first time since ive had it haha

Is that bolted onto the original frame tony?
And where did you get the polybushed engine mount from ian have only seen the rear diff ones so far ?

Change fuel filter what a place to put it, wonder who thought that up ? at the same time replaced the corroded earth, will be back in there over the weekend taking a look at the fuel pump Arctic2

Interesting. I have always got under the car and removed the snow cover or whatever it is called. Never bothered to take the wheel and inner wheel arch off.

I don't need to jack mine up either as there is enough room due the the large tyres and lift kit.

Hi Mike
On my other thread loud pump as they are in the same box as you say (snow cover ?) I wanted to have as much access as possible and going through the wheel arch with wheel off shows both filter, pump and the fuel sedimenter pot along with all connections, the fuel filter was very tight to remove so better off the car than on it.

I seam to post on this thread once every 6 months - which is when the Freelander comes up for its warrant (MOT). In this 6 monthly installment I replaced the passenger side wing mirror - I'd hit it reversing the boat up the drive a couple of years ago and smashed the casing, but it got through WOFs. Then a couple of weeks ago the Mrs finished the job off, on the same tree probably - so replaced it this time, and more careful in furture! Also took it down the 'Landie Shop' to have the ABS fault cleared - long term shuttle valve fault code or something. Anyway, they're off - so down for a WOF PDQ.

more like what it's done to me .. it's screwed up weekend plans .. bwaaaaa:-(((

clutch hydraulics failed .. juuust managed to get it back home ..
before it became totally impossible to dis-engage clutch ..

has 91,000 miles on it
suppose cylinders master or slave had to give up the ghost sooner or later
not much warning though ..

What bad luck the same happened to a fried of mine on the R75 club but lucky for him there is a member whom comes out to you, he can do a clutch changed in about 3-4 hours, also uses the upgrade metal master.

( local dealers .. expensive .. but top notch know-how and work ..
( am half expecting "sorry .. looks like it's the slave cylinder ..
