Today I finished replacing my rear shocks and springs - much better

The battery finally gave up when I stopped for diesel on the way to work this morning. It wouldn’t start with a jump pack this evening either. New battery required.

That sounds odd. Would it not turn over with the battery or the jump pack?

My Clarke jump pack you press a jump start button & off you go. Does 4 jumps before recharge. Good to take on horse events so can start most 12/24 motors or Lorrie’s

The battery has been sluggish for a while and it looks like the cold weather has finished it off. But the earths are looking suspect too. I tried a jump pack again today but put the negative onto the engine block and it started straight up. Just need to clean the earths and see if I can add an extra one too.

Bought a bigger battery. The defunct split charge and both batteries will go. An extra earth will be added too.

Fitted a new Panhard rod after noticing the bushes were shot - this was just a few days before the MoT, so there was a bit of a sweat to get the replacement in time. Passed first time and just one more MoT by my calculations before the old girl is 40yo and exempt!

Drove it a few miles.

Found the faulty number plate light has 2 little bulbs (both blown) off to find who sells these

Had a run up to Craddocks in Cannock before xmas to get rear shocks but none in stock so bought two new wiper blades and a bonnet release cable instead, swapped the wiper blades this morning, nice to be able to see out of the windscreen again!!
put Rain-x on the windscreen as well which makes a massive difference to water clearance and a lot easier to clear when the windscreen is frosty!!

The shiny new battery is still sitting in the house awaiting a break in the wet weather to fit it…

2003 Def Td5 oil service

Wood burner on, IPA in glass now to rest my back for the afternoon
Poxy Merc SL is a PIA to do the cabin filters, unless you are the size of Kylie........FFS

Looked at it from the window and then looked up at the weather.. then turned on the TV and opened up ebay looking for parts

Went & got some bulbs for the number plate light.
Couple of cans of beer ready to have a wheel changed.i do have a spare & jack but the mrs has filled the landy with stuff for the tip & blocked it all in. May be able to convince tyre man to put new tyre into old rim as well.
Think that’s it & ready for mot next week.

Good call. I keep meaning to buy one for the EV based on the accident escape horror stories.

New tyre fitted & handed over another tyre to be refitted later on the old rim. Loaded more rubbish into motor. Crap isolator gave up the ghost today found the proper one to fit.
Rain stopped play so have a few jobs to do
