Drove it to the tip to get rid of garden waste. Only to find I’m a day early….nice chap lets me through as I’m down as commercial due to height barrier.
Temperature gauge climbed a bit and remembered I still have the winter radiator protector on,turn on electric fan all lights up.
But later see temp still climbing, best out the heater on & sort when I get home.
Quick check, fuses all look intact.out with the meter & find a unblown fuse but open circuit. Replace & all working fine now

Of course while this was been sorted the dog has been in the motor with muddy feet all over the seats.

Changed the drive belts to cure the squeaking. They and the pulleys were covered in oil from an old leak (also assisted the demise of my temp sensor). Now changed I could swear the engine sounds better.

Also changed rocker cover seal and cleaned the cover up. I ordered some new rubber grommets for the screws as there isn’t much left of mine. The previous owner sure loved sand. Everything I take off to clean has sand somewhere.

Went to Yattendon Fete. Couldn't be arsed with the two field car parks so found parking for one...

Finally got to take a look at fitting my FB marketplace bargain lightbar. First task is sorting the interesting wiring so I didn’t get to fit it after all… 🙄

Reversed using side mirrors only, so didn't notice the large tree.

The rear mounted spare tyre protected the tree, and transferred the force straight into the rear door, which is now a bit bent in and tough to open....
Gutted for you. I kicked myself some years ago when I reversed into my parents’ drive and didn’t pay attention to the front offside wing, resulting in the gate post jumping out and making contact with the panel… 🙄😡

That's bad luck.
I drove into a tree in my son's Series 2a .......... that was stupidly!

All this talk of duffing up our Land Rovers...yesterday took my sister out to Lechlade for a birthday lunch. Late afternoon back at sister's gaff manoeuvring the jalopy on her driveway I didn't see the creamy white Fiat Panda on the right blending in camouflage style with the new Cotswold chippings driveway, this whilst reversing looking over left shoulder.

You know what's coming next...the driver's side Ian Dixon rock-tree slider took a liking to the Panda's rear nearside bumper-cum-lower wheel arch. Numerous scratches and buckles to the Panda and two sodding great Fiat cream stripes the length of the rock-tree slider

Needless to say the life miserable grunt of a BiL was none too pleased...

Found that the Adwest steering box fitted last August is leaking. And the centre ‘box is parting company from the rear section due to corrosion… 🙄😡

Here, re-Dinitrol'ed the inside of the chassis and tree-rock sliders. Lordy it's a messy job. + just discovered two of the front ball joint rubbers have perished at less than two years old. Luckily have some proper rubber boots with new rings to fit...so that will be t'row afternoon's task

When I replaced the clutch a month ago I noted that the two heater hoses were seriously past the best before date, re-fitted anyway while I ordered another pair. Fitted new hoses with no problems, even managed to find 4 decent jubilee clips in the parts box. while I was about it I drained the system and re-filled with anti-freeze. Just for a change no problems, heater blowing hot an all, no leaks. Bet Norman the 90 will find some way of biting me bum for that comment.
